Help Khaled, His Brother, and Their Mother Find Stability A Safe Home for a Gaza Refugee Family in Egypt
Khaled, his brother, and their mother are a Palestinian family who escaped the genocide in Gaza and are now trying to hold their lives together in Egypt, all while raising funds to keep their loved ones alive.
They carry the trauma of displacement and loss, yet continue to support over 60 family members still trapped in Gaza, as well as fellow refugees who turn to them for help.
But amidst all this, they’re now facing a mounting challenge: paying rent.
Rent should not be another burden for a family that has already endured so much.
We’re calling on our community to come together and help cover their rent, so they can focus on what matters most – healing, caring for each other, and continuing their humanitarian efforts.
We’re looking for around 20 people to commit to just $40 AUD a month, so we can help secure their housing for at least the next 3-6 months and give them the peace of mind they urgently need. This would cover half the rent of their current place, and ease their burden.
If $40 is to much, or regular giving doesnt suit you, any amount, large or small, regular or once-off truly makes a difference.
Why This Matters They’ve been in this apartment for several months now, and keeping it is vital to their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This apartment is more than just a roof over their heads. It’s a sanctuary. It is a place of:
Safety: A stable refuge after months of war and terror.
Dignity: A clean, secure space to reclaim a sense of self.
Healing: A quiet home to process grief, loss, and trauma.
Spiritual Support: Close to mosques and religious spaces that nourish their faith.
Daily Needs: Located near schools, clinics, and food shops, vital for survival without aid.
Hope for Reunion: A space that could house other family members if they manage to escape Gaza.
The Struggles They Face in Egypt Refugees like Khaled’s family are not eligible for support from the Egyptian government or major aid organizations. Most humanitarian assistance excludes single men or families without formal documentation, leaving them isolated from traditional safety nets.
They cannot legally work. Their homes have been destroyed. Their savings exhausted. The last of what they had was spent fleeing Gaza and securing temporary safety.
There is no consistent support, only the generosity of people like you.
Despite these challenges, Khaled continues to raise awareness about what’s happening in Gaza and mobilizes aid for those still inside. His brother, a former student, now dedicates himself to helping other refugees. Their mother, meanwhile, is battling a severe heart condition, repeated strokes, diabetes, and the emotional toll of displacement, separated from her children still trapped in Gaza.
The weight of survival, grief, and responsibility is immense. But we have the power to help lighten it.
Our Promise to You Your donation will go directly to covering their rent. Funds are sent securely via Western Union, and we will provide updates and receipts for full transparency. You will see your support at work.
By giving $40/month, or whatever you can, you’re not just helping a family stay housed. You’re helping them preserve their strength, dignity, and hope in an unimaginable situation.
The Power of Community In moments of profound loss, the kindness of strangers can mean survival.
Khaled’s family needs us now. Your support will offer them stability so they can continue supporting others.
Donate now to give safety, stability, and peace of mind to a family who has lost everything, yet continues to give.
Let’s remind them they are not forgotten. Let’s help them hold on, so they can keep helping others.
